Maricsa Ruiz Torres, 63, of Interlachen, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her residence. A native of San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Guillermina Torres and Daniel Ruiz, born on Friday, September 7, 1956. At the early age of 3, her family relocated to Chicago, IL., where she attended public school and subsequently earned secretary certification in vocational trade School. Maricsa was a Christian and of the Pentecostal faith. She formerly resided and worked in Atlantic City, NJ., before moving to Palatka in 1991. From 2000, Maricsa resided in Puerto Rico and in 2017 relocated to Interlachen due to adverse effects to her residence from Hurricane Maria. She was formerly employed as a receptionist at Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) in Palatka.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by her son, Angel Cruz; brothers, Felix Ruiz and Jose Ruiz; grandchildren, Emaly Genesis Cruz and Daniel Alexander Cruz.
To cherish her memories: devoted mother, Guillermina Torres, Palatka; daughters and son, Elmina (Johnny) Perez, Marisa (Kelvin) Vega, both of Interlachen; Emily Cruz, Philadelphia, PA; Angelica (Marcos) Segarra, Lehigh Acres; Guillermina Cruz, Daniel (Naomilee) Cruz, both of Palatka; Raquel Cruz, San Sebastian; Elizabeth (Emmanuel) Colon, Ocala; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Edia Ruiz, Gladys Ruiz; Aunt, Aurora Torres, all of San Sebastian; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from noon-1 p.m., on Saturday, December 21, with a Celebration of Maricsa's Life commencing at 1 p.m. at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity," Reverend David Segarra, pastor of Ministry Making a Difference, International, Lehigh Acres, FL., officiating. Interment will be Oak Hill West Cemetery.
