Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Kerr Wiggs, 98, of Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka surrounded by her four daughters.  She was born on Thursday, July 14, 1927 in Ocilla, Georgia to Rev. John Henry and Mrs. Lillie Mae Kerr. She was a member of Bethlehem for nearly 70 years and held the distinction of being the oldest member. Service to her church was provided through her role as president of the pulpit aid committee for several years as well as chairperson of the sick and bereavement ministry. Margaret was well known at Ralph's House of Flowers because of her many visits to select arrangements as an expression of love and concern for others. She cared for and was a dependable baby sitter for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  The life lessons Margaret instilled in her daughters were imitated by her daughters and passed on to their children. As a proud parent, Margaret saved a lot of memorabilia from her children's school years. Her daughters have done the same. Shopping for family members with her godson, Ray Michael, was among Margaret's favorite things to do. Her two most favorite shopping spots were JCPenney and K-Mart. For many years, Margaret was known in the neighborhood as "The Sherbie Lady."  Not only did she sell sherbies, she had a full store. Her favorite saying was "I Love You More."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Lester, George, John, James, Clarence, Rufus, Joseph, Ulysses; sisters, Thelma and Bertha.
