IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret Rose
Payne-Johnson
October 23, 1951 – May 25, 2020
Margaret "Marge" Rose Payne-Johnson, 68, of Chicago, IL, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, May 25, 2020 at Roseland Community Hospital, Chicago. A native of Chicago, IL, she was born on Tuesday, October 23, 1951 and educated in the Chicago School District. Due to the untimely transition of her mother, she was parented by her Aunt and Uncle Payne. Her father, Lampkin "Jack" Calcote and his wife, Annabelle showed her and her siblings lots of love. She was initially of the Catholic faith and subsequently united with the Baptist faith during her adulthood and marriage to a Baptist minister. She was known for her wit and humor. In February 1971, she united in holy matrimony to Rev. Herbert L. Johnson Sr., and they became the proud parents of three sons, Herbert, Jr., Christopher, and Steven, who were their pride and joy. She was a stay at home mom until they were in high school and she subsequently began working for Little City Foundation for a few years. She enjoyed volunteering at school and church. She served as the adorable First Lady of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. In October 2012, she retired from SDI Security Inc., due to declining health. She felt her greatest accomplishments were realized through the achievements of her three sons. She is already missed by her family, friends, and Facebook friends.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: devoted husband, Reverend Herbert Johnson, Sr., 3 sons, Reverend Herbert Johnson Jr, (Senior Pastor, Calvary Missionary Baptist Church), Palatka, FL; Christopher Johnson, Steven (Ashely) Johnson, Sr., both of MN; 2 brothers , Larry (Rita) Anglin, CA; Ray Parker, NV; sister, Neva (Andre' Sr.,) Alexander; 2 stepdaughters , Kimberly Underwood, Heide Johnson; 5 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 8 great step-grandchildren ; goddaughter ; former daughter-in-law , Lutisha Kyle; and a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives, church family and friends.
