Obituary

Mae Thelma Lewis Frazier, 85 of Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, surrounded by her three daughters and other relatives. The daughter of Emma Mae Williams Lewis and Allie Lewis, Sr., she was born on Thursday, February 3, 1938 in Miami.  She was a lifelong resident of Palatka and a 1956 graduate of Central Academy High School. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She attended The Temple of God Miracle Deliverance Center under the leadership of Dr. Ruth Lowe Reaves. She was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Karl N. Flagg, where she sang in the senior choir and served as a church mother. Over the course of her career, she was employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Higgins, cashier at Huntley Brothers and later retired from Hudson Pulp (Georgia-Pacific) as a tissue converting machine operator. She enjoyed working in her yard, watching Jacksonville Jaguars football games, numerous game shows and Bishop T.D. Jakes telecast. She also enjoyed sewing, baking and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Gerald L. Frazier, brothers, Allie Lewis Jr., Bobby James Lewis, Renard Kenneth Harrison, Jackie Erskin Lewis; daughter, Wanda Yvette Lewis; grandson, Roosevelt Lavone Lewis Jr; great grandsons, Michael & Gabriel Walker; maternal aunts and uncles, Ethel Hampton, Annie Mae Thomas, Claudia Fells, Bessie and Amos Sermon, Elizabeth Gibson, Pauline Williams, Walter Williams, Jr., Frank Williams, Sr., Ralph Williams Sr., George Mac Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Esicena Karen (Eddie) Walker, Joyce Ann (Sylvester) Hendrieth, Alesia Romeria Hall, all of Palatka; Belinda Frazier, Rochester, NY; 14 grandchildren; Noleta (Malcolm) Cody, Lake City, Sylvester (Talasha) Hendrieth, Palatka; Erika Lewis, Hephzibah, GA; Spencer Walker, Kenyatta Session, Christopher (Kearron) Hendrieth, Palatka; Kouvaris Lewis, Hephzibah GA; William Session Jr., Jacksonville; Rashard Session Sr., ShaToya Hendrieth, Palatka; Brian Lewis, Japan; LaPorsha Hall, Palatka; Eboni Hall, Mississippi; Dezhon Hall, Palm Coast; 35 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandsons, especially lil' best friend/babysitter/great-great grandson, Kace Smith; brothers, Wilbert (Gail) Williams, North Carolina; Samuel Lewis, Andre Lewis, Newport News, VA; sisters, Barbara Lewis, Beth Lewis, Sandra Lewis, Marilyn Lewis, Newport, VA; "like a sister", Rosa Vickers, Orlando; "like a brother", John Hampton Sr, Hinesville GA; "like a son", Rev. Karl N. (Terricena) Flagg, Palatka;  "like daughters", Janet Smith & Sharon (John L.) Williams, Palatka;  sons-in-law, Roosevelt L. (Carmelita) Lewis, Hephzibah GA; Clarence H. Hall, lll, Palatka; sister-in-law, Gayle Harrison, St. Augustine; goddaughters, Muriel Brown, Rev. Angela (Kenneth) James, Salaundra (Reese) Vickers, Angela Robinson Kemp, Twyla Fields, special friends; Elouise Waters, Pearlie Ruth, Dorothy Mullens, Clyde Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and beloved friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, September 22; Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Reverend Karl N. Flagg, Pastor and Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
