Mae Francis Barlow, 70, of Pomona Park, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born on Sunday, August 23, 1942 to Renell & Ethel Mae (Bradley) Miller, Jr. A native and lifelong resident of Pomona Park, she was educated in the Putnam County School System (Middleton High School). Mae Francis joined New Mt. Tamo Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. L. Davis and renewed her membership under the leadership of Rev. Dennis Carey. "Francis" was united in Holy Matrimony to Whittie Barlow, Sr. on Monday, March 12, 1962. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in eternal rest by her grandparents, Francis & Bertha (Hamilton) Bradley, Sr.; Bertha Miller Foreman; Renell Miller, Sr.; sister; Betty J. Miller White; brother, Johnny Miller Williams. Those who treasure her loving memories: 3 sons & 3 daughters, Mickel D. Miller; devoted daughter, Alicia Miller; Dennis (Sharon) Barlow, Sr.; Tonya S. Strickland, all of Pomona Park; Alphonso Barlow, Atlanta, GA; Hildagarde Simmons, Eustis; sisters & brothers, Bernice (Willie) Goodrum, Pomona Park; Renell Miller, III; Anthony (Loretha) Miller, both of Palatka; Nathaniel (Janice) Miller; Gail M. Plowden, both of Pomona Park; uncle, Joseph Bradley, San Pedro, CA; sisters-in-law, Mamie Simmons and Joyce Barlow, both of Pomona Park; Temperance Barlow, Welaka; 15 grandchildren especially Keturah Smith (raised like a daughter); 3 great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 4-6 p.m. Friday, November 16th at New Mt. Tamo Baptist Church. Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 17th, at New Mt. Tamo Missionary Baptist Church, 33 Railroad Avenue, Pomona Park, Rev. Theodore McRae, pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Mt. Tamo Cemetery, Pomona. The Cortege will assemble at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Simmons Family residence, 116 Greenville Road, Pomona Park.
