Lucinda Jones Wilcox, 55, of St. Augustine, entered the sunset of life on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center-Beaches, Jacksonville Beach, FL. The daughter of Patterson "Mr. Bud" Jones, Sr., and Eula B. Whitfield-Brown, she was a native of St. Augustine, born on Wednesday, August 9, 1961. She was a 1980 graduate of St. Augustine High School. Lucinda was a dedicated member and usher of Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She was a private duty certified nursing assistant who always put others first. Her hobbies included taking care of children, cooking, and spending time with family and she shared her genuine love with many friends.
In addition to her parents, Lucinda was preceded in eternal rest by her siblings, Mercy D. Ferrell, Mary McClain, Lucille Batie, Johnny Lee Whitfield, Robert Whitfield, and John Rice.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son and daughters, Melvin (Regina) Wilcox, Shemekia Wilcox, Queen Moses, St. Augustine; Keyera Wilcox, Tallahassee; sister, Thelma Jones, St. Augustine; brothers, Jimmy (Cynthia) Whitfield, Groveland; Patterson (Pauline) Jones, Carl (Venessa) Jones, Jacksonville; 5 grandchildren; aunts, Crezelle Turner, Mane Mitchelle; devoted friend and caregiver, Donald Wright; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends: 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 21 at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. Homegoing Celebration will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 280 Duval Street, St. Augustine, Rev. Richard Madison, Sr., Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, St. Augustine.
