Lloyd Winston Jones, 73, of Palm Coast, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Sophia's Choice Senior Care Facility, Palm Coast. A native of the Parrish of Portland, Jamaica, West Indies, he was born on Friday, June 23, 1944 to Charles E. and Anilla (Miller) Jones. He was educated in the public schools of Jamaica. Around 1965, Lloyd moved to the United States, and immediately enlisted in the Army, and served until he earned an honorable discharge. "Jonesie" as he was affectionately called was a New York City Transit Bus Operator for 25 years until his retirement in 2003. Upon retirement, he relocated to Palm Coast. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed going porgy fishing in Massachusetts. He loved photography, playing cards, and shooting pool.
Lloyd gave his life to Christ in May 2007 when he joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast. He really loved attending worship services and fellowshipping with the congregation. He faithfully served in the Mighty Men's Choir and Men's Fellowship Ministry.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Cynthia Jones; sons, Anthony (Sharon) Jones, Lloyd (Clarivel) Jones, II, Ernest Jones; daughters, Sherron (Rick) Fox, Traci (William) Mills; step-daughter, Molika (Nelson) Muhammad; 8 grandchildren; 4 sisters, one brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 9-11 a.m.; Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 (today) at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 75 Pine Lakes Parkway South, Palm Coast, Reverend Edwin Coffie, Pastor and Eulogist.
