Little Esther Dobson, 63, a native and lifelong resident of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her residence. The daughter of Leroy Creech, Sr. and Betty Lou Sutton, she was born on Sunday, April 12, 1959. Esther was educated in the Putnam County School District. She worked for the local Crescent City Post Office as a mail sorter and as a daycare worker for many years. She was a faithful Christian woman who believed in God with all her heart and soul. She became an Ordained Minister at True Foundation Ministries, Crescent City. She attended New St. Paul Church, Seville. Esther faithfully took carloads of children with her to the Church of God of Prophecy. She taught bible study at this church and a few others. Esther loved to cook, sew, shop, make crafts, and spend time with family and friends. She raised not only her own children and grandchildren, but many children throughout Crescent City. She loved everyone she met and preached the word of God to them. She was known as the queen of making homemade cheesecakes.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sons, Vincent Washington, Jr., Rubin Love; daughter, Felicia Love-Walker; brother, Leroy Creech, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Monnie Dobson Jr; mother ; Betty Lou Sutton; step-mother , Hilda Creech; children , Hannah Love, Juanita (Joseph) Turner, Latoya (Garvin) Scope; Katrina (Frank) Small, Mandrell Dobson, Moochie Jones; over 25 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers , James Pastley, Owen Tucker; sisters, Freddie Hughes, Danita Yost, Maggie Yost; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life: 2 p.m., Saturday, January 21 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church South Campus, 608 Randolph St, Crescent City, with a visitation of family and friends an hour prior. Pastor Gwendolyn George is the eulogist. Interment: Eden Cemetery, Crescent City.
