Linda Faye Simmons, 67, of Pomona Park, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Senator Bob Hooper House Assisted Living Facility, Forest Hill, MD. A native of Hastings, Linda, the daughter of Willie Lee "Buddy" Simmons, Sr., and Mamie Lou Barlow "Granny" Simmons, was born on Wednesday, September 20, 1950. At the age of 5, the Simmons family moved to Pomona Park. Linda was a 1968 graduate of Crescent City's Middleton High School. She was a member of New Mt. Tamo Missionary Baptist Church, Pomona Park, and formerly served on the Usher's Ministry.
After high school, she relocated to Washington D.C., and was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and subsequently returned to Florida. Over many years, Linda was manager of Blue Diamond "The Blue Room" (North 11th Street business district); cashier at Miller's, Pantry Pride, and Winn-Dixie supermarkets. In 2015, Linda retired after 20 years of employment with Florida Department of Transportation as Senior Heavy Equipment Operator. She enjoyed manicuring her lawn and maintaining her flowers. Her parents preceded her in eternal rest.

Barlow, Welaka; Maudine Taylor, Jackson, GA; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and caring friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5th, at First Baptist Church of Pomona Park, 112 Holly Avenue, Pomona Park, Rev. Gary J. Munson, Pastor. Rev. James Vickers, Pastor of New Mt. Tamo Missionary Baptist Church, Pomona Park, Officiating. Rev. Theodore McRae, Pastor of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Federal Point, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka.
