Lillie Mae Robinson Manning, 88, of Palatka, peacefully entered the sunset of life on Sunday, December 1, 2019 at Solaris Health Care Center, Palatka. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, she was the daughter of John and Lillie (Nash) Robinson, born on Sunday, April 5, 1931. Lillie was educated in the Putnam and Volusia County School District and attended Central Academy, Palatka and Campbell High School, Daytona Beach, respectively. She continued her pursuit of education at Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona Beach and Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, majoring in Physical Education and Health. Lillie was a member and a church mother, serving the Lord at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. She was devoted career employee of Putnam Community Medical Center for over 40 years. She was well-known and respected as a loving, caring, hard-working Certified Nursing Assistant. She was a member of Barragan Tri-County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sports, especially bowling and softball. She was an avid supporter of the Palatka C-Hawks Softball team and traveled with them for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband , Roland Manning, brother , Kenneth Brown; sisters, Mattie Nash, Elizabeth Lashley, and Debra Brown; grandsons , Donterius Fells and Stephon Edwards; godsister, Rosetta Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 7 children, Ray Michael Bess, Sandy S. Sellers, Vicki (Sylvester Miller) Bess, John (Delois) Manning, Reginald (Stynia) Manning, Ricky Maples, and Kelli Manning; 11 grandchildren, S'Yaki (Jody) Edwards, Dante' (Latima) Miller, Dorian West, Vichard (Rennetta) Miller, Crystal Dickerson, Ebony () Clark, Larissa Manning, John Manning, Jr., Vicente' Sellers, Sha'Rhonda Purifoy, Shanteria Purifoy; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Leon (Mary) Brown, Lorenzo Brown, and Leonard Brown ; 2 sisters, Barbara Word and Linda Brown; sister-in-law, Lennette Manning-Maxwell; "like a daughter," Brendlyn A. Dumas; son-in-law, Vincent L. Sellers; godchildren, Timothy Sheffield, Stephen Williams, Shamekia Wright-Givens, devoted niece, Lavora Smith; godbrothers, Willie (Sheridan) Jackson, James Fleming; godsister, Yvonne Minor; additonal children, Cherieta Prince, Darlean Prince, Wilbert Prince; devoted cousins, Janice Walton, Ernestine Cunningham, Bobbie Hopkins, Wilbert (Ann) Hough, Judy Bryant, and Lisa Bryant; devoted friends, Bettye Lee (Jimmy) Cooper, Girthia Ellis, Annette Greene, Tomsena Greene, and Margaret Wiggs; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 6 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration of Lillie's Life will be 10 a.m., Saturday December 7 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor, is the eulogist.
