Obituary

Lillian Louise White Kennell, 83, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Andalusia, Alabama, she was born on Tuesday, February 26, 1929 to the great Reverend Reuben Jack & Reverend Mae Bell (Washington) White. During her early childhood, her family relocated to Crescent City and she resided for over 77 years. She was educated at Middleton High School in Crescent City. In 1940, Lillian was baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. She was baptized and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Crescent City. Over the years, Lillian was a seasonal worker, domestic worker, child care provider, beautician and also assisted her mother as a mid-wife. In addition to her parents, Lillian was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Lonnie Kennell, Sr.; daughter and son in-law, Charlotte & Clarence Williams; son, Alvin White; grandchildren, Vanvoris Clemmons and Jarvis Crocker; sister, Overseer Ruby Lee Trammel; brothers, Billy Ray White, Aaron White, James Ottis White and Jack White, Jr. Those who will cherish her memories: loving and devoted daughter, Evangelist Harriett (James) Jordan, Crescent City; sons, Lonnie Kennell, Jr., Pittsburgh, PA; Lonell Kennell; stepdaughter, Theresa Bland, Crescent City; sisters, Elder Anna Lee Mims, Briscoe, PA; Elder Hattie Mae (Al) Gilyard, Trenton, NJ; Minister Dorothy Ann (Elder John) Williams; Rutha Bell White, Crescent City; brothers, Willie Sylvester White, Orlando; Johnnie C. White, Allentown, NJ; Elder William H. "Pete" (Leslie) White, Crescent City; Cornelius White, Deland; 8 grandchildren, Travis Crocker, Tyjuana "Tonya" Kennell, Taurean (Jessica) Wilson, LaRhonda Jenkins, Nakisha Horton, Clarence (Jeanna) Williams, VomSheree Harrell and Caswayla Williams; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; very special friend, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5 - 7 p.m., on Friday, July 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2376 S. US 17, Crescent City. A Celebration of Life will be 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Branch President Darius Trunk, officiating assisted by Pastor H. Harry Banks, Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
