Lillian McMillan Brinson, 83, of Albany, GA., (longtime Palatka resident) peacefully entered the sunset of life on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in Albany surrounded by her family. The daughter of Raleigh McMillan and Mary Pitts McMillan, she was born on Thursday, May 7, 1936 in Welaka, FL. Lillian was educated in the Putnam County School District at Central Academy High School, Class of 1955. She was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Palatka, where she served as a Trustee, an usher, and on the Missionary Society. She was a 31-year Putnam County School District Food Service employee commencing as a cafeteria worker on December 1, 1968. She served respectively at Central Academy High School and Palatka Middle School for a number of years. Lillian subsequently became Food Service Manager at Mellon Elementary School until she retired on July 1, 1999. In 2006, she moved to Albany, GA to be closer to her immediate family. While residing in AIbany, she became a member of Total Grace & Mercy Ministries, where she also served as a Missionary, Usher and Outreach Ministry leader. She enjoyed flower gardening and spending quality time with her friends and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Toney Brinson, Sr., sisters, Jean McMillan and Margaret Fluellen; brother, Raleigh McMillan, Jr., best friend, Gladys Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Raymond Davis, Sr., Gainesville; Toney (Deatrice) Brinson, Jr., Albany; 10 grandchildren, Shanta Davis, Jacksonville; Raymonda Davis, Palatka; Raymond Davis, Jr., Crescent City; Shane Davis, CA; La'Toya Brinson-Lawrence, Sharee (Terrance) Brinson-Mitchell, both of Augusta, GA; Shonda Knighton, Erika Hills, Jemarah Hills, Keturah (Deunte) Hammond-Mingo, all of Albany, GA; nephew/godson, Donald (Valerie) Bennett, East Palatka, godson, Steven Nabor, Albany, GA; and a host of other caring relatives and friends.
