Lezona Sharron Wiggins Miller, 70, native and lifelong resident of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, FL. The daughter of William Leroy and Lula Mae (Norris) Wiggins, she was born on Saturday, July 15, 1950. She was educated in the Putnam County School District and a 1968 graduate of Central Academy High School. She was presently employed as a dietary aide with Solaris Health Care and was formerly employed Putnam Community Medical Center. In 1972, Lezona was united in holy matrimony to Eugene Miller, Jr. until 2004. In her youthful years, she was a member of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church and during adulthood she became a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and sang in the choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her step-mother , Gertha W. Wiggins; sisters, Lillian Jones, Wynester Burke, Carrie Weeks; brothers, Eddie Lee, Lutrell, Frank and Wyndell Wiggins; grandson , Tim'morian Wiggins; son-in-law , Carlos Singleton.
She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Timothy (LeReka) Wiggins, daughters, Teleshia Singleton, Shanea (Tyrone) Williams, Stephanie (Brian) Nelson; "like a daughter," Lisa Cross Bryant; 16 grandchildren , Char'Teshia, Kaila, Timothy, Jr., Carlos, Devonta, Destiny, Deraje, Brian, Jr., Stephon, Joshua, Timaya, Tyrone, Jr., Timera, Brianna, Trenton, Paschen, Robtivia; 12 great-grandchildren ; brother, Norris "Genie" (Norma Jean) Wiggins; sisters, Betty Wiggins, Alice Mae (Lester) Epps-James; a host of nieces and nephews, especially those she raised, Melissa Wiggins, La'Chanda Bellamy, Terrenza "Omar" Wiggins, Jeffrey McGriff; godson , Deontae Stephens; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 29, at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." A Celebration of Life will be 1 p.m., Saturday, January 30, at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 118 Fairgrounds Road, East Palatka. Reverend Alvin Oliver, Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Melrose, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
