Lesslie Bernard Betrand, 72, of Seville, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at AdventHealth Deland. The son of Lee and Carolyn Cypress Betrand, he was born on Sunday, January 20, 1952 in Seville. He was educated in the Volusia County School District. In 1981, he accepted Christ as his personal savior at a revival in Pierson. Lesslie was a member of St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Lesslie was preceded in eternal rest by his stepmother, Bessie Betrand; sister, Gwendolyn Betrand; brother, Ray Betrand; step-brothers, Gilbert, Alphonso and Earo Jones; step-sister, Willie Mae Brown.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Jennifer Betrand; grandchildren, Ja'Kyrah Betrand, David Williamson, Desirae Williamson, Olivia Williamson, and Midas Betrand; sisters, Vivian Betrand, Wanda Betrand (Kajor) Lawson, Jennifer Betrand; brother, Raymond Betrand; aunt, Mary Ann Cypress; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be held from 1-2 p.m. with a Celebration of Life commencing at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, South Campus, 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City. Rev. Terrance Smith, St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church, Seville, Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment: St. Johns Cemetery, Seville.
