LeRoy Norman Mullen, Jr., the son of Leroy Norman Mullen, Sr. and Artanza Pacetti Mullen, was born on July 2, 1940 in West Putnam County (Johnson Crossroads), FL. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and attended Central Academy High School. He was of the Baptist faith. LeRoy enjoyed singing and listening to country music. He was a butcher employed by Florida Packing & Provision Company, East Palatka.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sisters, Evon Jones, Meltonia White, Meldonia Moore, and Ellen Spikes.
He entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital, Palatka.
He leaves to cherish his memories: devoted daughter, Venus (Reverend Theodore) McRae; son, José (Martha) Mullen, both of Palatka; grandchildren, Billy Jesse Sampson, III, Nashville, TN; Artanza (Michael) McRae-Wilson, Atlanta, GA; José Feleciano Mullen, Jr., Natasha Mone' Mullen, both of East Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 1; Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, November 2 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." His son-in-law, Reverend Theodore McRae is the eulogist.
