Leroix "LeRoy" Hampton, III, 56, of Atlanta, GA, entered the sunset of life on January 7, 2019 at Emory Hospital, Atlanta, GA. The son of LeRoy Hampton, Jr. and Kathryn Perkins Hampton, he was born on Sunday, September 17, 1961 in Sanford, FL. LeRoix grew up in Altamonte Springs, FL area and graduated from Lyman High School, Longwood. From his early childhood, he had an extreme love for music such as Jazz, Classical, Soul and R&B. Over the years, he came to Palatka for family reunions and to visit his grandparents, Leroy & Ethel Hampton, Sr. Upon graduation, he attended Valencia College's School of Music where he studied classical music and performance. He toured the USA with longtime gospel artist, Harella Goodwin. In 1983, LeRoix accepted the Lord's call to go to St. Croix, Virgin Islands to play for a church and choir in need. In 1984, LeRoix met the love of his life, India, and they united in holy matrimony on May 18, 1985. In 1989, while residing in Boston, he developed his skills to become a producer by working alongside record producer Rahni Song (producer of Najee, Kingdom, Melba Moore, etc.) He established Sonseare Publishing (a music publishing company) with many works charted on Billboard Gospel and Jazz. He co-founded S.T.A.N.D. and launched a program called Signature Music Design to provide recording opportunities for musicians, songwriters, and vocalists.

He leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife of 34 years, India Hampton; daughters, Chantel Hampton, Shania Hampton, Sinoa Johnson; sister, Derial Windom; brother-in-law, Jerome (Carmelita) Turner; sister-in-law, Joy Hill; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Celebration Services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Cross Culture Church, 6440 Rock Springs Road, Lithonia, GA., with Pastor Woodrow Walker II, officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Restlawn Cemetery, Sanford, FL
