Obituary

Deacon Leo Blue, Sr.,82, of Crescent City, was ushered safely into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 10, 2016, atPutnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. The son of Isaiah Blue and Lula Bell Thomas, he was a native of Manor (Ware County,) GA., born on Wednesday, February 7, 1934. He was educated in the Ware County, GA School District. He has been a resident of Crescent City for over 60 years. He was united in holy matrimony to Barbara Louise "Sug" Ashe Blue for 55 years, until her demise. Deacon Blue was a well-known labor contractor and an avid fisherman. He also sold fruits and vegetables roadside for many years. He served faithfully as a Deacon at Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ, Crescent City until his health declined.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in eternal rest by his: sisters, Betty Lou Bowles and Patricia "Charlie Mae" Thomas.

Those who miss him most and cherishes the precious memories: daughters, Robin Ashe Curry, Pamela (Pastor Emanuiel, Sr.) Roberts, both of Crescent City; Christell Thomas, Shelia Black, Tammy Bowles, all of Palatka; sons, Walter (Barbara) Blue, Waycross, GA; Larry (Stacey) Blue, Leo Blue, Jr., Casheus Small, all of Crescent City; 10 grandchildren, Derrick (Melanie) Blue, Emanuiel (Melissa) Roberts, Jr., Kenneth (Sarah) Roberts, Christopher (Aaronda) Roberts, Carmen Blue, Larry Blue, Jr., Alexus Kelly, Timothy Kelly, Jakymia Lane Collins, and Jackie Sam; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Essie Mae Thomas Miller, Sherry (Corry) Williams, Carolyn Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, July 15 at Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ, 1150 Huntington Road, Crescent City, Elder H. Harry Banks, Pastor. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16, at True Foundation Ministries, 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City, Pastor Gwendolyn F. George. Elder H. Harry Banks is the eulogist.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
