IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lee Robinson,
Jr.
August 19, 1943 – December 23, 2020
Lee Robinson Jr., 77, longtime resident of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving wife and family. A native of Quitman, GA., he was the son of Lee Robinson, Sr. and Tessie Bell Hillard Robinson, born on Thursday, August 19, 1943. During his childhood years, his family relocated to Crescent City. He was educated in the Putnam County School District at Middleton High School. He formerly served as an ordained Deacon at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church of Crescent City. He was a Brother of the Nation of Islam, Moorish Nation. He was a 32nd degree Mason, New Moon Lodge #32, F. & A. M., and was also a member of the N.A.A.C.P. His hobbies included watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He enjoyed feeding the neighborhood's cats and dogs. He was delighted to dine at Golden Corral and he loved Polar Pop drinks and ice cream. Over the years, he was employed as a crew leader at the Terry Taylor Fernery, truck driver with Armellini Express Lines and served as a funeral attendant with Urey Burrell at the former Burrell's Funeral Home of Crescent City. Following retirement, he enjoyed babysitting his great-granddaughter, Ashanti.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his mother-in-law , Lula Mae Crowder; father-in-law , Clifford Moody Sr., a host of aunts and uncles, including Mary Johnson, Hazel Bacon, and Tom Dozier; brother-in-law , John Lewis Moody; cousin , Mother Essie McDonald.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Lela Bell Moody Robinson, Crescent City; 4 daughters , Ruthie Commander, Laverne (Kelly) Miller, Linda (Willie) Johnson, all of Crescent City; Valerie (James) Mims, Waynesboro, GA; son , Lee (Sabrina) Robinson III, Crescent City; 16 grandchildren, Trinisha S. Austin, Lashawnda Facen, Taffy Hughes, Carvis Hughes, Kendra Clark, Dexter Clark, Shana Corbett, Travis Tucker, Ebony Austin, James Mims Jr, Lee Robinson IV, Zachary Robinson, Zaaven Robinson, Lyesha Robinson, Tavia Johnson, and Willie Johnson Jr.; 32 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sister, Ruthie (Richard) Carter, Debary, FL; b rother , Terry Mims, Crescent City; sisters-in-law, Ollie Mae (Enoch) Allen and Iona (Albert) Valley, Cocoa, FL; brothers-in-law , Clifford Moody Jr. and Randy Lee Crowder of Seville; special friends , Tony Williams, Milton Murphy, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines including required masks with social distancing, a visitation of family and friends will be from 10-12 noon Saturday, December 26, with a private (immediate family only) Homegoing Service following at Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ, 1150 Huntington Road, Crescent City, Elder H. Harry Banks, Pastor. His brother in law, Reverend Richard S. Carter, of Debary, will be officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
