Obituary

Elder Lawson "Bud" Foster, Jr., 84, of Palatka, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The son of Lawson Foster, Sr. and Betsy Glenn, Lawson was a native of New River, FL., born on Tuesday, March 24, 1936.  He was educated in the Bradford County School District.  In 1954, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, was truly saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost, and became a member of the Church of God by Faith.  On April 12, 1954. Lawson united in marriage to the love of his life, Rosa Lee Alexander and they faithfully upheld their marital vows for 66 wonderful years.  Elder Foster was a longtime member and loyal pastoral servant-leader, prayer warrior, and faith walker within the church, serving for over 60 years. He will be fondly remembered for his faithful service and heart full of humility as well as his devotion to God, the church, and the community. He provided custodial services for the Putnam County School District until his retirement in 1999.  His hobbies included serving the Lord through the church, fishing, watching WWE wrestling, and cooking (his classic sweet potato pies are missed already). He was also well-known for lovingly assessing "fines" on people.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in eternal rest by his son, Wayne C. Foster, Sr; sisters, Elizabeth Riggin, Willie Mae Goldwire; brothers, Charlie Foster, Carl Foster.

He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife of 66 years, Rosa Lee Alexander Foster; sons and daughter, John D. (Donna) Foster, Sr., Sandra S. (Melvin) Billingslea, Aaron B. Foster, Joseph M.
