In Loving Memory of Lawrence M. Weems A Time To Be Born..."Jimmy", as he was fondly known, was born September 1, 1936 to the late Willie and Betty Hayes Weems in Washington, Georgia. He was the fifth of five siblings, brother, William Weems, Sister Eula Mae Irick, Brother Marion Weems - deceased, and Sister Frances Jones. During his early childhood, his family relocated to New York City. A Time To Educate..."Jimmy" was educated in the New York City School System. He attended Harrison High School in Manhattan. A Time To Serve...His years of employment included the Alcoa Aluminum Company in New Jersey. He was later employed by New York City Transit Authority as a Bus Operator for 20 years, and then retired. A Time To Love...In his journey through life, he met and married Miss Muriel Elaine Gunter in 1970. Together, they shared 44 years. "Jimmy" and Muriel resided in Cambria Heights, Queens, New York. In 2002, they relocated to Palm Coast, Florida. A Time To Die...On November 28, 2014, "Jimmy" transitioned to be "absent from the body to be present with the Lord". Preceding him in eternal rest are his parents, Willie and Betty Weems; siblings William, Eula Mae and Marion. A Time To Mourn...Leaving to cherish precious memories are his devoted and eternal friend, wife Muriel; his daughter, Laura Weems and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and caring friends. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church of Palm Coast, 75 Pine Lakes Parkway South, Palm Coast, FL 32164, Pastor Edwin Coffie is the Eulogist.
