Lanell Johnson, 53, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Palatka, she was the daughter of Thomas "Tom" and Josephine (Campbell) Johnson, born on September 27, 1958. She was a 1974 graduate of Hartford High School, Hartford, CT. She was baptized at a young age at Macedonia Baptist Church. She worked in agriculture. Her hobbies included fishing, cooking, watching westerns, Madea plays, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lanell is preceded in eternal rest by her brother; John Lee Johnson; sister, Nordina Johnson; and nephew, Joseph Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Joesetta (Thermus) Williams-Hough, Hartford, CT; Tavorus Williams-Fields (Calvin Lewis), Palatka; sister, Rosetta Robinson, Palatka; brother, Lee Johnson, Palatka;9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; special friend; James Williams; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and caring friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 North 19th Street, Palatka, Reverend Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., Pastor. Elder Alonzo Mulberry III, pastor of Soul Mission Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist.

Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery,
