LaKesha Shaquan Horner, 36, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Community Hospice Bailey Center for Caring, St. Augustine. A native of Palatka, she was the daughter of Carolyn P. Brown and Ronald J. Honer, born on Monday, November 11, 1985. LaKesha was a 2004 graduate of Palatka High School and continued her education at the St. Augustine Technical Center 2010, earning her certification as an LPN. She was formerly employed by Solaris and Crestwood Nursing Center, respectively. LaKesha loved to help others, cook, dress up, and style hair and especially enjoyed spending time with her daughter, friends and family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in eternal rest by her maternal grandfather, Louis Cooks; maternal grandmother, Rose P. Bryant; maternal great-grandfather, Raymond Bryant, Sr.; maternal great grandmother, Essie Mae Bryant; paternal grandparents, Mary Alice and Edgar Honer; uncles, Richard Evins, Calvester Evins, Tracy Evins, Edgar Honer, Jr.; aunt, Vanessa Honer; cousin, Darryle Bryant, Jr.; great uncle, Raymond Bryant, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: mother , Carolyn P. Brown; stepmother , Sheree Honer; daughter , Saniyah L. Norris; aunts & uncles , Kenisha Bryant, Telecia Evins, Darryle Bryant, Sr., Rachel Bryant Lee, Arthur Honer, Juanita Oxendine, Larry Honer, Claudette Honer, Calvin Honer, Wallace Honer, Pamela Honer, Reginald Honer, Terri Lisa Smith; godparents , Eric Canty, Shonda Givens; godsister , Princess Robinson; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
A Memorial Celebration of LaKesha's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, at " Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Elder Leo A. Parker, The Emerge Church of Palatka, is the eulogist.
