IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Komeika Hampton
Chiles
August 2, 1972 – May 21, 2023
Komeika LaTarsha Hampton Chiles, 50, of Crystal River, FL., entered the sunset of life surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Bravera Health Seven Rivers Hospital, Crystal River. The daughter of Herbert and Barbara (Austin) Hampton, she was born on Wednesday, August 2, 1972. She was educated in the Citrus County School District and a graduate of Crystal River High School. She later graduated from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. She had two children Kameron and Tamara, and Komeika was able to meet her first born granddaughter, Naomi. She so loved and adored her children; she would do anything for them, and she had a beautiful baby granddaughter to dote on.
Komeika was an amazing daughter. She lived with her father and helped him with his daily life duties and numerous doctors' appointments. She was her brother LaShawn's best friend talking to him daily guiding him in his career and life. Komeika taught at her alma mater Crystal River High School, and later at Lecanto High School in special education. She loved teaching and found great joy in the special education program. Komeika loved to be with her family and friends and often found the "cuteness" in life, pointing it out to all of us to make sure we also saw it.
Komeika's legacy are her family and friends and the pure love that she gave and received from Everyone she knew. If you didn't laugh in Komeika's presence you probably weren't paying attention. Though she was very ill for many years she lived life to the fullest. She loved, and everyone loved Meka!
She leaves to cherish her memories: son, Kameron Hampton; daughter, Tamara Chiles; granddaughter, Naomi Justice; father, Herbert Hampton; brother, LaShawn Hampton and nephew, nieces, cousins, family and friends who all loved her very much.
