Kenneth Ray Scott, Sr., affectionately known as “Scott”, was born on Tuesday, July 2, 1957 to Isaac Scott and Ruth Naomi Small in Deleon Springs, Florida. Kenneth was educated in the Volusia County School District and was a 1975 graduate of Pierson Taylor Jr./Sr. High School. He served in the US Army from 1977 to 1981. Kenneth resided in Crescent City for several years before relocating to Deleon Springs.
Kenneth enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, listening to music, playing the lottery (daily) and joy riding with his wife. He would put his landscaping skills to work to help his close friends spruce up their yards. Kenneth had a competitive nature that became evident when he played dominoes and horseshoes.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in eternal rest by his brother, Howard Johnson.
Kenneth entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at his residence.
Precious memories of Kenneth remain with his wife, Laurie Shelton Scott; sons and daughters, Sarah Herold, Germany; Brian Dobson, Deland; Kenneth Scott, Jr., Lake Helen; James Scott, Pomona Park; Devenear Scott, Gainesville; Isaac (Ashley) Shelton, Pomona Park; Laris Shelton, Crescent City; Issala Shelton, Palatka; Justine (Brandon) Padgett, Welaka; Brittney McCloud, Okahumpka; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Keith (Essie) Johnson, Deland; Dennis Johnson, Deland, Kendall Johnson, Crescent City; Thurman (Sabrina) Scott, Lake City, SC; Elijah Scott, Rochester, NY; Bobby Scott, New York; sisters, Pamela (Melvin) Scott Ashby, Patty Scott, both of Portsmouth VA; godchildren, Nikeyvia King and Vic Ward; and a host of aunts and uncles, and other relatives and friends.
A graveside service in honor of Kenneth will be held 2 p.m., Friday, April 3 at Evergreen Cemetery, 814 Randolph Street, Crescent City, with vitation one hour prior. Minister Willie Mae Miley, Harvest Time Ministries, Kissimmee, officiating.
