Kearfer Kushawn "Shawn" Medlock, 44, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, he was the son of Clarkie "Chucky" Edward Medlock and Constance Dianne Elkins, born on Saturday, March 9, 1974. He was educated in Putnam County School District at Palatka High School, (Class of 1992). His employment and enjoyment was as a truck driver, employed by A. Walker Trucking Company of Sanford. Shawn's hobbies were fishing and watching sports, especially football and basketball. In his early years, "Shawn" attended the Palatka House of God Church. On Friday, May 11, 2018, he was united in marriage to his longtime, childhood sweetheart, Toronda Gilyard. Shawn loved spending time with family and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, August 3 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Celebration of Shawn's Life will be 3 p.m., Saturday, August 4 at the Palatka House of God Church, 723 N. 19th Street, Dr. Gilbert L. Evans, Jr., Pastor, is the eulogist. Elder Alonzo Mulberry, pastor of Soul Mission Church of God in Christ, presiding. Interment will be in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
