Kathy Darnell Wright, 53, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Palatka, she has been a lifelong resident, excluding for a concise five-year residency in Gainesville. She was born on December 1, 1956 and was a 1974 graduate of Palatka Central High School. She earned an associates degree in Nursing at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Kathy was a Licensed Practical Nurse employed by Palatka Health Care Center for15 years and Putnam Behavioral Healthcare for 6 years, respectively, until her declining health precluded. She enjoyed working puzzles and being surrounded by family, classmates, friends, co-workers and her patients.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Pastor. The Reverend Frederick T. Demps, pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Palatka, is the eulogist.
Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
