Julie Oxendine, 60, of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Friday, July 21, 2023 at AdventHealth Deland. The daughter of Albert Bacon, Sr. and Hazel (Hilliard) Bacon, she was born on Friday, December 21, 1962 in Princeton, New Jersey. She was educated in the Putnam County School District. Julie was employed as a custodian for the Putnam County School District.

She was a beautiful person inside and out. She always thought of others. She was a loving wife and an amazing mother. She loved everyone, but most of all, she loved God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Louise Bacon Brown; brother, Ira Lee Bacon.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Melvin Oxendine, Sr.; sons, Melvin Oxendine, Jr., Jaimye Oxendine, Marquiz Eddie Oxendine; daughter, Ja'Net Elicia (Morgan) Oxendine; grandchildren, Johnny Thomas, Khadijah Oxendine, Raja'Ne Thomas, Nathaniel Oxendine, Daisy Oxendine; sisters, Elizabeth Bacon Hamilton, Lois Bacon Gonzales, Mildred Bacon, Mary Ann Bacon; brothers, Willie James Bacon, Sr., Horace (Harriet) Bacon, Emanuel (Rosa) Bacon, Peter (Sylvia) Bacon; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 9:30-11 a.m. with Celebration of Julie's Life commencing at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 5 at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church (South Campus), 608 Randolph Street, Crescent City. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
