Juanita Louise Bennett, 53, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, September 16, 2013, at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach. The daughter of Harold Bennett, Jr. and Evelina Sloan, she was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, born on Sunday, July 17, 1960. She was a graduate of Palatka High School, Class of 1979. Juanita was a seasonal worker. Since her early childhood, she was a member of First Born Church of the Living God and also attended Holy Word Revival Center. Her hobbies included babysitting singing, coloring, and watching television, especially "House of Payne" featuring Tyler Perry. In addition to her parents, Juanita is preceded in eternal rest by her brother, Willie James Beauford, Sr., sister, Claretha Reese; and nephew, Joseph Bennett. To cherish her memories: mother, Catherine Daniels, Palatka; devoted friend, Bobby Perry, Palatka; daughters, Kathleen Bennett, Teresa (Robbie) Charles, Trina Bennett, Tomeka Brinson, all of Palatka; Marquita Bennett, Daytona Beach; son, Timothy Brinson, Jr., Palatka; siblings, Evelyn Bennett, Patricia Pugh, Carol Bennett, Mary Bennett, and Rondale Bennett, all of Daytona Beach;Regina Daniels, Clarence (Darlene) Simmons, Christopher Chavis, Lawrence Sharp, and Johnny (Stephanie) Daniels, all of Palatka; Harold (Amy) Bennett, III, Deland; Evelina Diana Mann, Calvin Mann and Joseph Mann, all of Baltimore; Harold Bennett, Washington, D.C., 15 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday (today) at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 21, at First Born Church of the Living God, 1708 Madison Street, Palatka, Bishop W.L. Smith, Jr., Pastor. Superintendent H. Wayne Colbert, pastor of Victorious Faith Church of God in Christ, is the eulogist and Pastor Vivian E. Johnson, presiding. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka.
