Joyce E. Nelson Sharp, 86, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center, Palatka. The daughter of Frank Nelson and Clonzie (Nickerson) Nelson, she was born on Tuesday, August 19, 1938 in Roy (Flagler County), Florida. During her adult years, Joyce resided in Palatka. She was of the Baptist faith. Her favorite forms of recreation included fishing and playing lottery scratch offs. Joyce was employed as a cook at Vick's Supper Club and Lounge.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Freddie Sharpe; an infant child; brother, Nathaniel; sister, Willie Mae Thomas.

Precious memories of Joyce remain with her loving brother, Jimmie Willie (Mae Lois) of Deerfield Beach; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special caregivers at Palatka Healing and Rehabilitation Center including: Lisa, Brandie, Tomeika, Kem, Keisha, and Karen of Barry Manor.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 25; Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 26 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Reverend Ostine Moore, Little Bethel Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery.
