Joseph Willis Jordan, 82, native of Crescent City, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, Gainesville. The son of Sylvester and Ophelia (Wimbly) Jordan, he was born on Saturday, March 28, 1942. "Joe" spent most of his adult life in Opa Locka before returning to his homestead of Crescent City in 1996. He was a 1960 graduate of Middleton High School. He was a member of Union Bethel AME Church where he served as a Financial Officer. He retired as an industrial welder. Joe took pride in his athleticism and completed morning exercise routines before his daily runs. He enjoyed robust political discussions and watching various sporting events. He also enjoyed traveling, journaling and encouraging people with words of pride and acknowledgement. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in eternal rest by his sisters, Ruby Lee Jordan-Turner, Sandra Lee Jordan, and Clementine Van Clief.
He leaves to cherish his memories: six daughters, Shancerrae (Jesse) Jordan-Clark, Daytona Beach; Juneasa (Ronald) Jordan-Bueno, Grayson GA; Sophia Jordan, Deland; Cynthia Nelson-Bryant, Orlando; Regina Davis, Trenton, NJ; Thaka Green, Miami; grandchildren, Joi Nicole Kirkland, Jonathan Clark, James Clark, Camilya Clark, DuJuan Pyron, Dujuana Pyron, Diedre Bryant, Deanna Bryant, Debi Bryant, Ricky Bailey, Rufus Bailey, Rashad Bailey, Rodney Cook, Ranesha (Hilton) Pearce; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Iran Washington, Charlie (Deisha) Washington, Yolanda Washington, Ricky Glover, Eric Glover; sisters -in-law, Jeri Dean Hardy, Dolly Bush and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and caring friends.
A memorial service in honor of Joseph's Life will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church South Campus, 608 Randolph St., Crescent City. Bishop Scott Golden is the eulogist.
