While in high school, he learned the trade of brick masonry and later he relocated to Washington, DC where he continued working in that field. In Washington, DC, he met and married the love of his life Jerline "Jere" Moody and to this union three sons were born. He and his family later moved to South Carolina and subsequently relocated to Interlachen, Florida. He worked in this field for 50+ years, starting out in Washington, DC. His favorite pastime sport was bowling, which he had the opportunity to travel to various competitions.
