Johnny Oneal "Boleg" "Bo-Ghost" Jones, Sr., 66, of St. Augustine, entered the sunset of life on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine. The son of Neal and Ruthie Mae Jones, he was born on Tuesday, October 4, 1955 in St. Augustine. He was educated in the St. Johns County School District and graduated from St. Augustine High School. Johnny was employed by The Florida East Coast Railway for five years and later transitioned to the construction industry for over 20 years working with Tony White Construction Company.
Johnny was a family oriented person. He loved sitting with family and friends sharing memories. He was a very laid back man who enjoyed the simple life and a good Western. If he greeted you it would always be with a smile and his famous saying "People People."
In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in eternal rest by his wife, Sarah Ann Jones; daughter, Lasheki Murray; sisters, Luvenia Jones, Emma Rhea Jones; brother, Rodney Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Johnny O'neil (Lisa) Jones, Jr., Palm Coast; daughters, Twana (John) Murray, Jacksonville; Corrine Murray, Houston, TX; brothers, James (Lashawn) Bunyon, Samuel (Charlotte) Jones, both of Titusville; John (Linda) Jones, Palatka; Paul (Annie Mae) Jones, Jacksonville; Louis (Loraine) Bunyon, Jacksonville; Robert (Joanne) Jones; sisters, Addie Mae Simmons, Palatka; Valerie Jones, McRae, GA; Lether Mae Jones, Pearlie Mae Jones, Deaconess Lender McDowell, Shirley Jones, Caroline (John) Russ, Frankie Mae (Johnnie) Williams, Geneva Lockwood, all of St. Augustine; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, including a dear close friend, Anthony "Tiki" Byrd.
Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 26; Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 27 at E.A. Kelley Sr. Memorial Church of God in Christ, 760 West King Street, St. Augustine, Pastor Donald Kelley, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Augustine.
