Johnnie Roy Williams, 76, of Jacksonville, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Noble House Senior Living, LLC in Jacksonville, Florida. The son of Leroy Williams and Elnora Wilcox Williams, he was born on Monday, February 28, 1949 in Green Cove Springs. He was a 1967 graduate of Dunbar High School. He was a hard worker and was employed by Volusia County and Orange County Public Works for 25 years. He was a handyman and was also employed by Walmart for 12 years. His hobbies included spending time with his family, especially his daughter and he enjoyed listening to classic R&B music.
In addition to his parents, Johnnie was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, James Williams, Danny Williams, Thomas Williams, Bernard Williams, Leroy Williams, Jr., and Tommy Ivy; sisters, Shirley Williams, Lisa Williams, Annette Williams, and Betty Ivy.
He leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Sharonda (Perry) Tape; granddaughter, Lattifa Bryant (Raheem) Harris; brother, Harold (Jackie) Drummer; sisters, Thelma Blount, Barbara (Keith) Salton, Laresa Williams, and Juanita Williams, Yvette (Corey) Bray, Diane Williams, Shawanna Williams, Linda Williams, Gaynell Bright, Loretta (Ronald) Jemmott; aunts and uncle, Reverend Robert L. Wright and Ethel Wright, Margaret Wooten; goddaughter, Shawnarie Carter; special devoted friend, Pauline Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2-3 p.m., with Celebration of Life commencing at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 10th at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 1300 M. L. King, Jr. Blvd., Green Cove Springs, Florida. Rev. Robert L. Wright, Senior Pastor, is the eulogist. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Green Cove Springs.
