Joe Anthony Langston, 54, of St. Augustine, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Jacksonville. A native of Hope, AK, the son of Joe Herman Langston and Nobie Jean (Vickers) Langston, he was born on Saturday, February, 4, 1967. Joe was educated in the Lenawee MI County School District and was a 1985 graduate of Adrian High School (Adrian, MI).
PFC Langston was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran (1987-1991) who earned numerous decorations, including: Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service and Overseas Service Ribbons, Sharp Shooter Marksmanship Badge Rifle.
In 2008, Joe earned an Associate's Degree from St. Johns River State College and became a certified radiology technician. He was employed as a radiology technician at the Mayo Clinic Hospital, Jacksonville. Joe was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed reading, mentoring, and racing RC cars.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Gail Leeper.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Tracy Langston, St. Augustine; children , Ashley Langston, Ariel Langston, both of St. Augustine; Ambher (Jufferson) Joseph, Jacksonville; grandchildren , Savion Langston, St. Augustine; Laela Joseph, Whitley Joseph, both of Jacksonville; brothers, Stacey Langston, Demetrius Langston, Robert (Lisa) Walthour, Sanford; Eugene (Pauline) Walthour, Tampa; sisters, Shante (Markise) Langston, Sonya Langston, Toledo, OH; Sylvia Boykin, St. Augustine; mother-in-law, Barabara (Robert) Davis; godson, William Peeples; aunts and uncles , Bertha Mae (Larry), Baltimore, MD; John Henry (Nell) Vickers, Hope, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including special family friend, Verron Streeter .
Mandatory CDC guidelines for social distancing and masks required): Visitation of family and friends will be 6-8 p.m., Friday, September 24 and Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 25 at New St. James Missionary Baptist Church, 135 N. Rodriguez St., St. Augustine, FL 32084.
