Jimmie C. Williams, Jr., 41, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Orange Park Medical Center, Orange Park, FL., as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Although a native of Gainesville, he was a lifelong resident of Palatka. The son of Jimmie C. Williams, Sr. and O'Dell Torrance, he was born on Saturday, March 24, 1979. Jimmie was educated in the Putnam County School District at Palatka High School. He was a production worker at Garden Highway Foods in Green Cove Springs and previously worked in construction. Jimmie had a life full of love and displayed and voiced it every opportunity he had. He concluded every conversation with the words, "I love you!" Jimmie's love for his wife was unwavering! His children held the keys to his heart! He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and listening to music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his paternal grandparents (who raised him), Jimmie Lee and Nola (Perry) Williams; maternal grandparents, Tom and Ruby Torrance; aunts and uncles, Hattie Williams, Janice Williams, Larry Williams, Tom Torrance, James Torrance and Walter Torrance.
He leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Akyssah C. Williams; sons, Jimmie D. Williams, Jayden L. Williams, J'Saun C. Williams; stepson, Anthony L. Royster III; daughter, Ra'Maya Jashelle Eugenia Williams; stepmother, Sarah L. Williams; stepfather, Robert Miller, Daytona Beach; brothers, Lorenzo (Sharon) Davis, Atlanta, GA; Hoover(Gail) Owens, Daytona Beach; William(LaVanda) Torrance, McDonough, GA; Christopher Hardy, Palatka; Marcus (Shwana-Shay) Torrance, Jacksonville; sisters, Jackie (Billy) Golden, Sabrina Hardy, both of Palatka; step-sisters, Tiffany Dantzler, Palatka; Kayo (Rudy) Gordon, San Mateo; Dorcas (Derrick) Patrick, Panama City; godchildren, Melvin Jennings Jr., Azayden and Anthony Napier, Palatka; mother-in-law, Tonija (Anthony) Mitchell; father-in-law, Eric Canty, sisters-in-law, Monteka Kelley, Tuquila Reed; brothers-in-law, Keddric Canty, Dontrell Canty; aunts & uncles, Geneva Smith, Dorothy Esau, Cathy Lee, Ester Wright, Permelia (David) Green, Vernesia (Curley) Gilmore, John L (Sharon) Williams, Virgil Torrance, Willie Torrance, Bernard (Julia) Torrance, all of Palatka; Johnnie (Debra)Torrance, Daytona Beach; great aunt and uncles, Lois Purdy, Palatka; Simuel (Mary) Williams, Sumter, SC, Robert James Williams, San Francisco, CA, loving nieces and nephews, devoted cousins and a host of friends.
In compliance with CDC COVID-19 guidelines (including required masks) a socially-distanced visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, September 4 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity". Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 5 at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Pavilion, 118 Fairgrounds Rd., East Palatka. Elder James Matthews, Pastor, New Passionate First Born Church of the Living God, is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
