Jimmie Lee Poole, 64, of Palm Coast (longtime Palatka resident), entered the sunset of life on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at AdventHealth, Palm Coast.

Jimmie Lee Poole, was born in Palatka, Florida on Monday, October 16, 1961 to William and Pearlie Mae (Staten) Poole. He was educated in the Putnam County School District and was a 1979 graduate of Palatka High School. Shortly thereafter, Jimmie enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for 4 years, and subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

While serving in the Marine Corps, Jimmie’s military roles included the following: Infantry Unit Leader, Guard, Rifleman, Marine Corps Security Force Cadre Trainer and Billets Designer. His commendations include: the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal Ribbon, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal- 2 Star Bronze, Navy/Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal Bronze Star and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon- 4 Star Bronze, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal- 6 Star Bronze, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal- 6 Star. After 20 years of service to his country, Jimmie retired from the Marine Corps.

Jimmie’s post-retirement time was filled with two special endeavors. He enrolled in Bethune Cookman University and subsequently earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology (May 2014). During this time, the “Poole Cleaning Business” was launched and remained operational for 2 years before Jimmie retired completely.

Jimmie received Christ in his life during his early adult years. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Male Chorus.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He touched the lives and hearts of all who knew him. Jim will be remembered for his boundless love, strength and devotion to others. His generous spirit has left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in eternal rest by his sisters, Tomeka Poole, Sandra Brinkley and Shirley Ann Jackson; and his brother, William Poole, Jr.

Cherished memories of Jimmie will remain with loved ones including: his wife, Vevvy Poole; sons, Shane (Tomeka) Poole and Jimmoron (Kiayla) Poole; daughter, Jasmine Poole; bonus sons, Fred (Marcelle) Scoggins, Vershard Robinson; bonus daughters, Vevivan Lee and Vaztrelle Pierrette; sister, Mary Jane Poole; brothers, James Poole and Charles (Era) Poole; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lee, five sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; like a mother, Gladys Myers; godmother, Inez Beauford; favorite aunt, Ernie Council; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, August 21; Celebration of Jimmie’s Life (with U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard conducting military honors) will be 2 p.m., Saturday, August 22, at Calvary MBC Family Life Center, 1414 Bronson St, Palatka. Dr. Herbert L. Johnson, Jr., Pastor and Eulogist. Interment will be on Monday at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
