Jimmie Lee Blocker, Jr., 51, of Houston, TX, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, May4, 2016at MemorialHermann N.E. Hospital, Houston, TX. The son of Jimmie Lee Blocker, Sr. and Loretha (Bailey) Turner, he was a native of Lake Wales, born on Saturday, February 27, 1965. He was a 1985 graduate of the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, St. Augustine. Jimmie had resided in Texas since 2009. He enjoyed boat riding, fishing, and having cookouts. His parents preceded him in to eternal rest.
To cherish his memories: son, Carl Lee Blocker, Tampa; daughter, Rebecca Blocker, Ft. Pierce; stepfather, Freddie Turner, Ft. Pierce; stepmother, Queen Blocker, Lake Wales; brothers, Harvey Blocker, Alton Walker, Jr., both of Lake Wales; sisters, Conswella " Connie" (Jason) Smith, Ft. Bragg, NC; LaTonya Pearson, Spring Lake, NC; Asa Blocker, Lake Wales; aunts, Ethel Ree Davis, Catherine Brown, both of Lake Wales; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, caring friends including Frances Martinez-Beavert, Rachel, Ray, Anthony, and Enrique "Rick" Martinez, all of Houston, TX.
Visitation of family and friends at the church will be Saturday, May 14 from 12 noon until time of services. Homegoing Celebration will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 14, at Johnson Temple Church of God in Christ, 1150 Huntington Road, Crescent City, Elder H. Harry Banks, Pastor is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Crescent City.
