Jim Curry, III, 34, of Palatka, transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, September 24, 2012 at Putnam Community Medical Center. The son of Jim "Jimbo" Curry, Jr. and Barbara Johnson Curry, Jim was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, born on Thursday, November 17, 1977. During his early childhood, he was baptized at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He attended several churches, including Refuge Church of our Lord Jesus Christ and was a 2009 graduate of Christian Cornerstone. Jim was employed with Waste Pro as a Collector, assisted his wife as a caregiver at Essence Family Care (family owned business) and was a masonry laborer by trade. He was united in holy matrimony to Stephanie Dantzler. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in eternal rest by his maternal grandparents, Eddie and Rutha Lee Johnson; paternal grandfather, Jim Curry, Sr.; uncles, Timmy Curry and Ricky Curry. Those who cherish his memories: loving, devoted wife of 7 years; Stephanie Curry, Palatka; son, Jimnirable Curry, Starke; daughters, Daleisa Curry, Starke; Jerlisha Curry, Palm Coast; step children, Anthony Clark, Jr.; Dontae Diaz, Sr., both of Palatka; father, Jim "Jimbo" Curry, Jr., Palatka; mother, Barbara Johnson Curry, Palatka; paternal grandmother, Lillian Lee Curry, San Mateo; siblings, Shaquita C. Curry, San Mateo; Cedric L. Curry; Verlina A. Curry; DeLisa S. Curry, all of Palatka; Kabreeka S. Curry, San Mateo; Jimnesia S. Curry; Jimmaron Curry, both of East Palatka; Mother-in-law, Gloria Lewis, Palatka; step grandchildren, Akeelah Diaz and Dontae Diaz, both of Flagler County and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, best friends, Jimmy Poole; Alvin McCaskill, both of Palatka. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at the "Chapel of Serenity." Homegoing Celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 6, at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 N. 19th Street, Palatka, Rev. Anthony Q. Robinson, Sr., pastor. Reverend James E. Vickers, pastor, New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Palatka is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
