Jiles Thomas "J.T." Smith, 89, of Satsuma, entered the sunset of life on Friday, June 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born on Monday, April 16, 1934 in Prague, Oklahoma. Jiles was the first born to Acey and Melba Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Sissy; and brother, Cecil.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Berna Dean Smith; two daughters, Janell Smith and Dawn (Dave) Ronan; granddaughter, Molly Ronan; siblings, Sherry Kay (Mike) Scullion and Aceline (Vic) Drosi; brother-in-law, Gerald; other relatives and close friends.

A celebration of Jile's life will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Church of the Nazarene, 3212 Moody Ave, Orange Park, with a visitation an hour prior. Interment with USAF military honors: 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
