Jerusha Mary Myles Hendricks, 34, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, August 11, 2008, at S.R. 207 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on SR 207 in St. Johns County (Elkton). She was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka, born August 11, 1974 to Yvonne Johnson and Edward Myles, Jr. Jerusha was a graduate of Palatka High School, Class of 93 and attended St. Johns River Community College. She was formerly employed as a data entry specialist at Palm Coast Data for over 10 years, and was employed in the hospitality department at Bayview Samantha Wilson Care Center, St. Augustine. On April 25, 1997, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Leo Hendricks, Jr. Jerusha and her family frequently attended Abundant Life Ministries. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jerusha is preceded in eternal rest by her paternal grandparents, Edward & Mary Myles, Sr., maternal grandparents, Samuel & Jerusha Johnson. To cherish her memories: devoted husband of 11 years, Leo Hendricks, Jr., Daughter, Tasha Hendricks; Son, Leo Hendricks, III; beloved mother, Yvonne Johnson; father, Edward Myles, Jr., sisters, Tasha (Larry) Bennett, Josephine (Jerome) Reeves, brothers, Samuel Crowley, Carl Crowley, all of Palatka; maternal grandmother, Lucille Mayzes, Welaka; Mother- In-Law, Brenda Hendricks, A host of aunts & uncles, including devoted aunts, Thura Lee (Marco, Sr.) Myles-Smith, Aretha (Dr. Eugene) Foster, all of Palatka; numerous nieces & nephews, devoted friends from Palm Coast Data, and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be Friday, August 15th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Chapel of Serenity. Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, August 16th, 4 pm at Abundant Life Ministries, 890 Highway 19 N, Palatka, Dr. Ray & Peggy Willis, Senior Pastors. Elder Moses Long, pastor of Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church is the eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
