Jerome "Bo" Johnson, 63, of Crescent City (formerly Long Island, NY), entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the VA Medical Center, Gainesville. The son of Willie Johnson and Annie (Wright) Johnson, he was born on Friday, September 14, 1957. He was educated in the Putnam County School District, attending Crescent City High School. He served in the U.S. Army. Later, he attended Breckinridge Job Corps Center, Kentucky. In his early years, "Bo" was a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Robert Ashe. He was employed by Wesnofke Farms, Long Island, NY as a seasonal worker and also worked in construction. He was a family man who enjoyed music, basketball, and playing the saxophone in the school band.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his sister, Patricia Johnson Gowdy.

He leaves to cherish his memories: children, Kimbre (Eddie) Johnson, Kayla (Fred) Johnson Addison, Bryan (Ashley) Johnson, Deryl (Donshiatesse) Johnson, all of Crescent City; grandchildren, Quatreviez Francis, LaKhya Addison, Talia Hankins, Tyra Hankins; great-granddaughter, Amiyah Addison; brothers, Tommie (Betty) Johnson, Deleon Springs;    Randy Johnson , Palatka; Patrick (Debbie) Johnson, Crescent City; Jeffery (Joan)  Johnson, Long Island, NY; aunts & uncles, Catherine (Earl) Mason, and a host of other relatives and friends, including devoted cousin, David Johnson, Jr.

CDC guidelines will be followed for the visitation of family and friends from 5:30-7 p.m., Friday, June 11 at Jethro First Baptist Church, 101 Cedar Street, Crescent City. Celebration of Life with military honors will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 12, at Friendship Baptist Church, 286 Smiley Store Road, Crescent City. Bishop C. "Scott" Golden is the eulogist. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
