Jeri Lou Samu was born on Friday, June 23, 1950, in Norwich, NY to Gerald and Eleanor DuPont. Living mostly in Madison County, NY, Jeri graduated from Hamilton Central High School, NY in 1968. During her school years, she was known as the class artist and held membership in the Honor Society and the Latin Club. In 1972, Jeri moved to Florida and used her creative skills to crochet caps for newborns and won numerous awards for her crocheted christening gowns and blankets. As displayed by her volunteerism to the Bread of Life feeding ministry, Jeri had a heart for service. She was well known for spreading holiday cheer by decorating her yard at Christmas time and giving away cookie treats every year.
In addition to her parents, Jeri is preceded in eternal rest by brothers, Fred DuPont and John MacPherson; sisters, Cynthia DuPont and Marcella McMullen; sister-in-law, Monika Hayes; brothers-in-law, William James IV and William "Henry" Akins; infant great granddaughter, Presley Grace Jones and nephews, Jeffrey DuPont, Christian Babcock, and "Buddy" Akins.
Jeri entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 26th at her San Mateo residence.
Treasured memories of Jeri are forever with her husband, Frank Samu, III; children, Dennis Smith, Lynda Jones (Randy "Mike"), Frank , (Melanie Moore), and Kenneth (Angela); grandchildren who called her "Nanny", Michael Jones (partner, Kayla Eldridge), Kristopher Jones, Nathan Jones (partner, Richelle Ott), Mackenzie "Mack" Moore, and Kennedy Moore; her great grandchildren, Tyson Eldridge and Autumn Jones; sisters, Marion James, Esme Coward (Gary), Patsy Akins, and Pamela Walden (Claude); brother, Terrance DuPont (Ofelia); sister-in-law, Margit MacPherson; brother-in-law, Jim "Bones" McMullen and numerous nieces and nephews.
