Obituary

Mother Jeanette Coley Watford, 68, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Putnam Community Medical Center. A native of Lake Worth (Palm Beach County) Florida, she was born on Thursday, January 30, 1947. Jeanette was the third eldest child of her parents, Homer and Alma (Burroughs) Adams, Jr. Her stepfather, Robert Bell raised her from early childhood and was respected as her loving Father. Jeanette, affectionately known as "Mae" was a graduate of Carver High School, Class of 1965. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Little Zion Church of God in Christ (Lake Worth). In 1966, she relocated her family to Palatka and became a member of Zion Temple Church of God in Christ. In 1977, she united with First Born Church of the Living God and served faithfully as a Deaconess. She was a former housekeeping employee at Palatka Health Care Center. On July 11, 1998, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Johnnie J. Watford and they relocated back to Lake Worth. She was a member of Boynton Hill Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Sylvester Wright, Sr. serving as a Missionary, Deaconess, Church Mother, and in the Deacon's Wife Circle. Her hobbies included shopping, spending time with her family. She enjoyed fellowshipping with her church family. Due to declining health, they returned to Palatka last year. In addition to her parents, "Mae" is preceded in eternal rest by her sister, Ethel Lee Adams Razz. To Cherish Her Memories, Loving Husband, Johnny Watford, Palatka; Beloved Sons, Elder Arthur Lee (Tiffany) Coley, Jr.; Bertram Geronomy (Nicole) Harrison, both of Palatka; Loving Daughters, Jeanetta Meredith Coley, Victoria Deneen Coley (Herman) McRae, Sr., both of Palatka; stepson, Jerome Coley, Wilmington, NC; Bishop Robert (Mary) Watford, West Palm Beach; Sisters: Mother Jessie (Eron) Givens, Lake Worth; Minister Clara Daniel, Tallahassee; Adella Bell, Lake Worth; Brothers, Deacon Jimmie (Isabelle) Adams, St. Petersburg; Deacon Henry (Alma) Adams, Atlanta, GA; Michael Puckett, Boynton Beach; Robert Bell & Samuel Bell, both of Lake Worth; Aunts, Mother Maggie Harris, Cincinnati, OH; Uncles, Deacon Alfred (Dorothy) Burroughs, Jr., Savannah, GA; Willie (Carletta) Burroughs, St. Petersburg; Sister-in-law, Pauline Phillips, Dothan, AL; 12 grandchildren; 2 Step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; special sisterly friend, Missionary Ruby Lee Andrews, Palatka; and a host of nieces, nephews, caring friends and Boynton Hills Church of God in Christ church family that she loved dearly. Visitation of family and friends at First Born Church of the Living God, 1708 Madison Street will be from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, February 7, Bishop Walter L. Smith, Pastor. Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m., Sunday, February 8, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Avenue, Palatka, Rev Karl N. Flagg, Host Pastor. Superintendent Sylvester Wright, Pastor of Boynton Hill Church of God in Christ, Boynton Beach is the Eulogist. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery, Palatka. The cortege will assemble at 2:20 p.m. Sunday at the Price Martin Community Center.
