Jeannette Williams Ford-Thomas, 71, of Bunnell, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her daughter's residence in Palm Coast. The daughter of Hezekiah Williams & Tessie Monroe, she was born on Saturday, November 21, 1942 in Jamesburg, New Jersey. She was educated in the St. Johns & Flagler County School Districts. On March 18, 1970, Jeanette was united in Holy Matrimony to Wiley Thomas. In 2010, Jeanette retired from the Flagler County School System after serving as a Cafeteria Manager for 42 years. During these years, she had the privilege of serving several schools, including: George Washington Carver School, Bunnell Elementary, Belle Terre Middle, and Flagler Palm Coast High Schools. She was a former member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church (Espanola) and St. James Missionary Baptist Church (Bunnell). She was a faithful member and Deaconess at Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, Hastings. Deaconess Thomas enjoyed attending church and also enjoyed cooking and shopping. Jeanette was noted for her love and care for all of the children of Flagler County. She was the epitome of a community pillar who touched so many lives. Anyone who had an encounter with Jeanette could attest to her sincere love. She truly loved her family, and absolutely adored her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Jeanette was preceded in eternal rest by her husband, Wiley Thomas; son, Leon Turner; fathers, Hezekiah Williams and George Hill; brother, Reginald Williams; sisters, Beatrice Foster, Christine Williams. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, August 1st at New Hope Holiness Church, 813 Marion Street, Bunnell. Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 2nd at First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2301 Commerce Parkway, Bunnell, Reverend Eric Trawick, Pastor. Reverend Rick Torrence, Pastor and Rev. Karon Torrence, Co-pastor of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church of Hastings, are the officiants. Interment will be in Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast.
