Jan Saunders Sparks, 82, of Crescent City, transitioned peacefully at home on Sunday, September 22, 2013. A native of the District of Deptford, England, she was born on Thursday, October 30, 1930 to Richard William and Daisy Miriam Carr. Jan, a multi-talented woman, was trained and certified to create Architectural plans in England, was an accomplished needlewoman who made clothes and traditional quilts and truly loved Indian craft and jewelry. In 1967, she relocated to the United States and in 1971 she united in marriage to Jerald Sparks. Together, they were the owners of Crescent City Auto Parts. In 2000, Jan delightfully became a permanent resident citizen of the United States of America. Those who treasure her memories: husband, Jerald Sparks, Crescent City; three children from her first marriage, Elizabeth Jones, Peter Saunders, and Helen Cook, all of England; sister, Pam Holland, Australia; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, all of England; and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends. A Memorial with Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 28 at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 106 Beulah Church Road, Fruitland.
