James Alexander Godbolt, 59, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, March 4, 2024 at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital, Palatka. The son of Coy Godbolt, Sr., and Mamie (Ellerby) Godbolt, James was born on Sunday, October 11, 1964 in Gainesville, Florida. He was educated in the Alachua County School District and a graduate of Eastside High School, Gainesville. James was employed for 15 years at Wendys. He was of the Baptist faith. James enjoyed fishing, junking, and working hard; he was an avid Scooby Doo collector.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in eternal rest by his brothers, Vernon Henderson, Lorenzo Henderson and Kenny Henderson.
James leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Robin M. Godbolt, Palatka; son, Gregory Washington, Jacksonville; step-children, Kimberly M. Huey, Palatka, Shanielle D. Fedricks, Illinois, and Allen J.R. Fedricks, Georgia; grandchildren, Elijah Huey, Kari Huey, Jahira Fedricks, Cayden Williams, Michael Fedricks, and Carmen Fedricks; brothers, Jason Godbolt, Michel Henderson, and Wayne Henderson; sisters, Gladys Godbolt, Diane Godbolt, and Sonya Godbolt; several godchildren and a host of aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Visitation of family & friends will be 9-10 a.m. with Celebration of Life commencing at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 16 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity." Bishop Christopher Stokes, officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Memorial Cemetery, Gainesville.
