Jahme Zaki Jones, 23, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Putnam Community Medical Center, Palatka. A native and lifelong resident of Palatka, he was the son of Johnny Lee Jones, Jr. and Tammie McCaskill, born on Sunday, January 22, 1995. He was educated in the Putnam County School District (Palatka High School). Jahme was a Lawn and Landscape Technician. During his early years, he was baptized, became a member and served as an Usher and Sunday School Secretary/Reporter at the First Baptist Church of Armstrong. Jahme truly loved life and the simplest pleasures of laughing and chatting with his family and friends. He had a passion for meeting people and he never missed an opportunity to give lots of hugs and kisses. His hobbies included playing basketball and soccer.
He was preceded in eternal rest by his grandmothers, Mercedes Young, Palmas Montgomery and Dorothy Jones; aunt, Pamela Greene Spegal; uncles, George Green, Jr. and Bill Jones; niece, Kyla Walker.
He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Charles A. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, January 11, at Flagg's Chapel of Serenity. A Celebration of Jahme's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 12, at Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, 4909 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, Rev. Karl N. Flagg, Senior Pastor. Elder Jarvis F. Wright, Pastor, New Saint Paul Church of God in Christ, Seville, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill West Cemetery.
