IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Isola
Evans
July 13, 1926 – August 13, 2025
Isola Williams Evans, 99, of Gainesville, entered the sunset of life on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 (exactly one month after her 99th birthday) at Magnolia Ridge Rehabilitation Center, Gainesville. The daughter of James Williams, Sr. and Alice Mathis Williams, she was born on Tuesday, July 13, 1926 in Palatka. In her early adulthood she relocated to Asbury Park, NJ, where she resided for over ten years. She moved back to Palatka, and worked for Putnam County School District's grandparent program until she retired. She was a former member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, and later became a member of the Palatka Church of God by Faith. In August 2013, Isola moved to Gainesville with her daughter and continued faithfully serving the Lord at Gainesville Church of God by Faith until last year.
Mother Evans loved people and enjoyed fellowshipping with them - she never met a stranger, she could interact with anyone, young and old. She had a sense of humor, which you would enjoy being in her presence. In her younger years she loved fishing, gardening, both flowers and vegetables. Her favorite hobbies included watching game shows, the news and solving puzzles. One of her favorite quotes was "God is a mighty God!" which was one of the last things her daughter audibly heard her say.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in eternal rest by her brothers, Wilbert Williams, Clarence Williams, Sr., Wilford Williams and James Williams, Sr.; one sister, Ruby L Brown, and one grandson, Ronnie J Williams.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: loving and devoted daughter, Lillie R. (Alton) Benjamin, Gainesville;, other daughters Evelyn Langston, .Gainesville; Nancy Purifoy, Palatka; special niece/daughter, Cynthia Ellis, Jacksonville; devoted granddaughter/buddy, Kimberly Trawick, Palm Springs, CA; devoted friend, Willard Reid, Gainesville; sister in-law, Roberta Williams, Palatka; brother in-law Johnny Brown Augusta, GA; great-grandsons Kieblo Dwan Williams, Palatka; Ronnie J Williams Jr., Augusta, GA; great-granddaughters, Sacoria L. Williams, Ke'andra S Williams, both of Gainesville; 14 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren; nieces, Sherry Wilkerson, Wilmington, DE; Lasandra Williams, Angela Williams, both of Palatka; nephew, Rev. Clarence Williams, Jr., Palatka; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation of family and friends will be 4-6 p.m., Friday, August 22 at Gainesville Church of God by Faith, 735 SE 15th Street, Gainesville. Celebration of Isola's Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, August 23 at Palatka Church of God by Faith, 1511 Washington Street, Palatka. Dr. Erta C.
