Iris May (Parrish) Anderson was born on Saturday, January 6, 1962 to Cincinnattis Parrish and Marie Blanche Cross in Palatka. She was a 1980 graduate of Palatka High School. Iris moved away from Palatka and established residence in Greenville, SC and subsequently returned to Putnam County, residing in Interlachen and Palatka.

Iris united in marriage to William David Anderson. She was the mother of five children. She was formerly employed as a cashier at Dunkin Donuts. Her hobbies included watching Criminal Minds, listening to country music and pop music and dancing. Her favorite song was "Bartender" by Rehab, the popular American Southern hip hop group from Warner Robins, Georgia. She also liked music performed by the Goo Goo Dolls, but her favorite musical talent was Sugar Ray.

Iris and her family frequently worshipped at Pentecostal Revival Center in Palatka.

Iris entered the sunset of life on Monday, April 17, 2023 at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital, Gainesville. In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in eternal rest by two sisters, Lottie and Grace Parrish.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, William David Anderson; children, Rebecca Anderson, William Anderson, Jr., Adrian Baez, Angel Morenu and Tristan Baker; grandchildren, Colton, Tyson and Thomas; brothers, Tommy Parrish and Ben Parrish; sisters, Ella (Ronald) Shifflet and Amanda Parrish.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Etoniah Cemetery in Palatka.
