Idella Daniels Peterson Johnson, 84, of Palatka, entered the sunset of life on Tuesday, April 23 at Shands at UF, Gainesville. A native of Daytona Beach, she was born on Friday, March 15, 1929 to Herbert & Mamie (Frickling) Daniels. She was adopted and raised by her grandparents, Samuel & Moriah Peterson in Palatka. She was educated at Central Academy. Idella was employed as a cook at the former King's Coffee Shop. Idella was a former member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. She most recently attended the Church of God by Faith in Hastings. Her hobbies included cooking, fishing, gardening and taking care of others. In addition to her parents and grandparents; she was preceded in eternal rest by her daughter, Aquilla Brown; son, Charlie Daniels, Jr., siblings, Betty Kilpatrick, Irene Daniels, Christine Daniels, Wilhemina Rice, Harry Daniels, and Anne Currely. Those who cherish her memories; children, Samuel Johnson, Delores Daniels, Alfred Johnson, Gladys D. Lee, all of Palatka; Carolyn McClean, Spring Valley, NY; Bridgett Waters, Hastings; sisters, Janie Hill, Atlanta, GA; Delores Richardson, Daytona Beach; 9 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and caring friends. Visitation of family and friends will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 3 at "Flagg's Chapel of Serenity", 2400 Madison Street, Palatka. Homegoing Celebration will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4 at the Palatka House of God Church, 723 N. 19th Street, Dr. Gilbert L. Evans, Jr., pastor, is the eulogist.
